Chalhoub Group was seeking to centralize its warehousing operations at a single regional distribution center, which would allow the firm to meet the growing demand of its market more efficiently, while achieving economies of scale. The chosen location for the project was Real FZE, in the Jebel Ali Free Zone in Dubai, and Chalhoub Group required a solution that would address two key challenges:
Consolidating the total 22,000m2 area of all existing facilities into a single location with an area of 19,000m2.
Being able to effectively manage 80,000 SKUs, allowing operators to quickly locate, select and move the products on stock.
SPAN consultants and engineers analyzed the Chalhoub Group’s warehousing operations and proposed an innovative and comprehensive solution that would allow the firm to meet its efficiency and productivity targets.
The tailored Warehouse Storage and Management System (WSMS) designed and delivered by SPAN offered the following features:
The WSMS proposed by SPAN allowed the Chalhoub group to meet its productivity goals, while offering a safe work environment for its operators.
